At a Glance Bhelua Union

Bhelua Union is a union in Sreebardi upazila of Sherpur district in the Mymensingh division of Bangladesh. Location on the International Map: Coordinates: 25.1464 ° North 79.9320 ° East. It is situated between Sreebordi Sadar Union on the north, Kamarer Char Union under Sherpur Sadar Upazila on the south, Kharia Kazir Char Union on the east and Gaibanda Union under Islampur Upazila on the west. Bhelua Union is one of the oldest administrative areas of the Ministry of Local Government which was established in 1927. The first chairman of the Bhelua Union was the late Mejaz Uddin Talukder (1926-1947).

 

Bhelua Union is a densely populated area with a population of over 50 (fifty) thousand. Literacy rate among the town people is 55%. People of all religions, castes, classes and professions have been living in harmony in Bhelua Union since ancient times. Agriculture is the primary occupation of the people of Bhelua Union. Most of the people in this area still make a living by working in agriculture. Paddy, jute, wheat, mustard, eggplant, potato, green chillies and all other cash crops, grains and vegetables are produced here.
